What data we process
Browsing data. When you open a page, the hosting servers record technical information that is transmitted automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, date and time of the request. This data is used only to run the website and keep it secure.
Data you send us through the contact form: name, email address, institution, term dates and the content of your message. The form does not store anything on this website: it sends us an email at housing@amoehousing.com.
Data you send us by email or phone, if you contact us directly.
Why we process it, and on what basis
To answer your enquiry and, where relevant, prepare a housing proposal for your program. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
To run this website and protect it from abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and secure (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We do not use your data for marketing, we do not profile visitors, and we do not sell or share data with third parties for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and the related correspondence: for the time needed to handle them and, at most, 24 months after our last exchange, unless a contract follows, in which case the data is kept for the duration of the relationship and the retention periods required by law.
Browsing data: for the time strictly necessary for security purposes, according to the hosting provider's retention policy.
Who can access it
Our staff, limited to what each person needs to handle your request.
Hostinger International Ltd, which hosts this website and our email on servers located in the European Union (Germany), acting as data processor.
Public authorities, only where the law requires it.
Transfers outside the European Union
Your data is stored in the European Union. The only exception concerns the fonts used on these pages, which are loaded from Google Fonts: when a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google servers, which receive your IP address. Google LLC participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; according to Google, the Fonts service does not use this data to profile users.
Cookies
This website uses only technical cookies, which do not require your consent. One cookie (pll_language, kept for one year) remembers the language you chose so that we show you the right version on your next visit. WordPress sets further cookies only for people who log in to manage the site. We do not use analytics, advertising or profiling cookies.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access the data we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format (articles 15 to 22 GDPR). Write to housing@amoehousing.com: we answer within one month.
If you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or with the authority of the country where you live.
Students housed through a program
Personal data about students that we receive from universities and study abroad providers in the course of a housing agreement is covered by the information notice provided with that agreement, not by this policy, which concerns this website only.

We will update this page if the way we process data changes. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised.
